I've just returned from a Whole Hearted Medicine retreat, which I can't recommend highly enough. Big take aways- self compassion and the value of living mindfully. It had a very big focus on burnout prevention and recovery too.

I found the retreat absolutely fantastic. Finally an event that focusses on self care and realised burnout, specifically in the medical field. I felt heard, I felt sharing my experiences helped and I felt I was given real tools and techniques to help in the future. Thank you for the safe space to reflect and grow.

Since the retreat, I have maintained an almost daily meditation practice and have been working on my SMART Goal to reincorporate exercise into my life. I'm still finding the psychological aspect of that goal challenging, but I’m focusing on being present and not forecasting the thousands of possible scenarios that could occur. There’s still work to do, but I can feel the shifts starting.

Edge of the Bay, Tasmania: Coastal Calm, Quiet Illumination
Perched on 27 acres of serene waterfront just beyond Coles Bay, Edge of the Bay merges coastal clarity with a sense of expansiveness that stills the breath and opens the heart. Across gentle dunes and native sheoaks, cottages and contemporary studios look out over Oyster Bay toward the rosy granite peaks of the Hazards. Each sunrise offers a quiet reminder of place, purpose, and the possibility of pause.
This intimate retreat setting creates a harmonious rhythm between group connection and personal space. Shared meals unfold casually beside the water, where the bay’s natural hush becomes the room’s ambient rhythm. Evenings settle in gently, with the distant sound of seabirds and the soft lapping of waves offering space for reflection and stillness.
Here, the natural world offers both invitation and wisdom. Private beaches lie just steps away, their sands often untouched except for your own footprints. This is a place to walk slowly, to breathe deeply, and to be present in ways the day-to-day rarely allows. Whether wandering into Freycinet National Park at first light, spotting dolphins offshore, or sitting quietly on your deck watching the tide move in and out, the landscape invites presence.
